We love the local community in Whangarei and as a business we endeavour to give back as much as we can to those around us.
Since the business began we've supported a wide range of charities, not-for-profit organisations, community care organisations, schools and support groups. And we couldn't be happier to do it. It's an important part of who we are here at Harcourts Whangarei.
The organisations we support include
The North Haven Hospice Charity Art Auction: Harcourts Whangarei has been delighted to sponsor these events for the last few years. All proceeds raised have gone directly to North Haven Hospice. Held in October each year, it's a great way to help North Haven Hospice to raise money and continue doing such wonderful work in our community.
The North Haven Hospice Trucks: Harcourts Whangarei sponsor the North Haven Hospice trucks each year with a significant contribution towards the running costs of the trucks, which collect goods for the Hospice shop.
The Hospice Treasure Trove Auction: Harcourts Whangarei supported the Hospice Treasure Trove Auction in 2015 and plans to continue with the event each year. The event had great results and all proceeds go back towards North Haven Hospice.
The Pompallier Catholic College Scholarship: Harcourts Whangarei supports a Pompallier Catholic College senior student each year with funds contributing to their first year of university fees, known as the Harcourts Optimize Group Scholarship. Education is something our business owners are passionate about and the recipient of this scholarship must have contributed significantly to the community as well as achieving great results.
Surf Life Saving: Harcourts Whangarei support our local Surf Life Saving Clubs in the Northland region as they keep our beaches safe each Summer. Our contributions help the clubs to purchase necessary equipment and provide training to the volunteer life savers.
Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Breakfast: Harcourts Whangarei holds an annual office breakfast to raise fund for the NZBCF. As an in-house event, it is great to both support such an important cause and spend some time together as a team.
The Harcourts Foundation: Through the Harcourts Foundation, we contribute a percentage of proceeds from every sale to a community organisation of our choosing. Over the last year we've donated funds to the Whangarei SPCA, The Company of Giants and the Halberg Disability Foundation.
Our sales teams are also passionate community contributors and many give a portion of their proceeds to community organisations. Tony Carrod and Rachel Rogers of Harcourts Bream Bay donate $500 of each sale proceeds to the local community and this year they've contributed over $5,500 to One Tree Point School - we’re so incredibly proud to have them on board.
Some kind words from those we support
"Dear Debbie, Mike and your dynamic team,
This is a thank you for being so supportive in making the Art Auction the success it undoubtedly was. The atmosphere was really bubbly and I experienced my first buy at an auction! It was great working with you!"
- Jane Scripps, Manager of Volunteer Services at North Haven Hospice
